Face lift(Rhytidectomy)
Our facelift treatments are expertly designed to rejuvenate and restore your facial contours, helping to reduce signs of aging such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and loss of firmness. By carefully lifting and tightening the underlying tissues, our procedures provide a natural, youthful, and refreshed appearance, enhancing your overall facial harmony and boosting your confidence.
What is a facelift
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure aimed at diminishing visible signs of aging in the face and neck. This technique involves tightening the underlying facial muscles, removing excess fat, and carefully repositioning the skin to create a smoother, firmer, and more youthful appearance. Facelifts effectively address common aging concerns such as sagging skin, deep wrinkles, jowls, and loss of muscle tone. The primary goal is to deliver natural-looking results that refresh and rejuvenate the face, helping individuals regain a vibrant and revitalized look while maintaining their unique facial characteristics.
Lower face lift
A lower facelift is a specialized cosmetic surgery aimed at rejuvenating the lower third of the face, including the jawline, chin, and neck. It effectively addresses common signs of aging such as sagging jowls, deep nasolabial folds, and loose skin beneath the chin. During the procedure, the surgeon carefully lifts and tightens the underlying muscles and tissues, removes excess skin, and recontours or repositions fat deposits to restore a firmer, more defined jawline and smoother neck. The goal of a lower facelift is to enhance facial balance and create a youthful, refreshed appearance in the lower face and neck area.
Neck lift
A neck lift, medically known as a lower rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure designed to enhance the appearance of the neck by addressing common signs of aging such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and prominent vertical neck bands. These changes can occur due to aging, weight fluctuations, or genetic factors.
During the procedure, the surgeon typically makes discreet incisions behind the ears and/or beneath the chin to access the underlying muscles and tissues. The muscles may be tightened, excess skin removed, and stubborn fat deposits eliminated—often with the help of liposuction—to create a smoother, firmer, and more youthful neck contour.
The primary goal of a neck lift is to restore a well-defined, rejuvenated neck profile that complements the overall facial structure, enhancing harmony and youthfulness. While recovery times vary, patients can expect some initial swelling and bruising, with gradual improvement as healing progresses and final results become visible.
Face lift surgery
Facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, is a specialized cosmetic procedure designed to diminish visible signs of aging in the face and neck. By lifting and tightening underlying facial muscles and tissues, removing excess skin, and smoothing wrinkles, the surgery restores a fresher, more youthful appearance. It effectively addresses common concerns such as sagging skin, deep folds around the nose and mouth, jowls, and excess fat beneath the chin. Customized to each patient’s unique anatomy and goals, facelift surgery aims to deliver natural-looking results that enhance facial contours and rejuvenate the overall facial profile.
Face lift: who is suitable?
Individuals experiencing the following concerns may benefit from targeted facial rejuvenation treatments:
Sagging skin on the face
Wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth
Loss of facial volume due to fat tissue reduction
Uneven or irregular neck contours
Sagging skin around the chin and jawline
Reduced self-confidence resulting from changes in facial contours
These signs of aging and volume loss can significantly impact appearance and self-esteem, and addressing them can help restore a more youthful and harmonious facial profile.
Treatment duration
The procedure to remove excess skin from the cheek involves making a precise incision along the natural crease where the ear meets the cheek. This incision is meticulously extended into the scalp behind the sideburns and continues behind the ear. This strategic placement allows the surgical site to be discreetly concealed within the natural facial and scalp contours, minimizing visible scarring after the procedure.
Potential risks & side effects
Although less common, some patients may experience bruising, headaches, or mild sagging and hollowing of the cheeks following surgery. These effects are generally mild and temporary, resolving naturally as the healing process progresses. In rare instances, initial asymmetry may be observed; however, surgeons employ meticulous techniques to ensure balance and symmetry. Any minor asymmetries typically improve over time as swelling diminishes and the tissues adapt to their new contours. Overall, these potential side effects are carefully managed by the surgical team, and most patients are highly satisfied with the natural, rejuvenated appearance achieved through this procedure.
Success
This procedure primarily targets the tightening of loose or sagging skin in the lower face and neck area, aiming to refine facial contours by eliminating excess skin and reducing sagging. However, it does not effectively address midface issues such as cheek descent. For patients experiencing both midface drooping and lower facial laxity, combining this treatment with endoscopic midface surgery can provide optimal and highly satisfying results.
How can you help yourself?
Following your surgery, it is essential to strictly follow the recovery instructions provided by your surgeon and medical team, who will carefully monitor your progress in the months ahead. They will prescribe pain relief medications and antibiotic ointments to support your healing process.
In the critical first three weeks after surgery, diligent self-care at home is vital to promote optimal recovery and reduce the risk of complications.
Be sure to avoid disturbing any scabs that develop on the surgical site, and choose clothing that can be put on without pulling over your head. These precautions are key to ensuring proper healing and a smooth, comfortable recuperation.
The new look of your face – What can you expect after a facelift?
A facelift offers lasting benefits by restoring a rejuvenated and youthful facial appearance that endures over time. While it does not stop the natural aging process, the results typically persist for many years, allowing you to age gracefully with refreshed contours. Depending on individual preferences and lifestyle factors, some patients may choose to undergo a touch-up procedure every 5 to 10 years to maintain their desired aesthetic outcomes.
Beyond improving facial structure by addressing sagging skin and wrinkles, a facelift significantly enhances self-confidence. It helps alleviate insecurities related to aging, providing a renewed sense of satisfaction and assurance. With its long-lasting effects, a facelift empowers you to embrace a more youthful look and enjoy the benefits of refined, harmonious facial aesthetics.
Face lift cost
Facelift surgery costs vary based on factors such as the surgeon’s expertise, location, procedure complexity, and any additional treatments. Typically, the price includes the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, facility charges, and follow-up care. For detailed information and pricing, please contact us.
Face lift frequently asked questions
Is rhytidectomy a facelift?
A rhytidectomy, or facelift, is a surgical procedure that reduces visible signs of aging in the face and neck by removing excess skin, tightening underlying tissues, and repositioning the skin for a smoother, more youthful look. It addresses sagging skin, deep wrinkles, jowls, and loose neck skin.
Does a face lift lift the neck?
A traditional facelift targets the lower face and jawline, often extending to the neck, lifting and tightening sagging skin in these areas.
How long do surgical face lifts last?
Surgical facelift results usually last 7 to 10 years but vary based on age, skin type, lifestyle, and health.
What is the best age for a lower face lift?
The ideal age for a lower facelift is typically between the mid-40s and mid-60s, when signs of aging like sagging and jowls appear but skin still has good elasticity. However, the best timing varies by individual factors and goals. Consulting a board-certified plastic surgeon can help determine the right time for optimal results.
How are Facelifts performed?
In a traditional facelift, the surgeon makes incisions around the ears to lift and tighten facial skin, removing excess skin for a smoother, younger look. The incisions are then carefully closed, and a bandage is applied to support healing.
How long will my Facelift last?
A facelift usually lasts 7 to 10 years. Some patients choose to have it again to maintain results, while others are satisfied long-term without further surgery.
What are the risks and complications involved with having a Facelift?
Like all surgeries, facelift carries risks. Smokers must stop smoking two months before and after to lower complications. Risks include hair loss, nerve damage, and slow healing. Following all care instructions is essential for the best results.
